City doctor after number of advocacies and campaigns to impress the government to set up SDMA advisories has appealed to the Supreme Court to intervene. In the PIL Dr. Edmond Fernandes Vs Union of India, the doctor has prayed that the Court direct the formation of these bodies and involve cross sectoral stakeholders such as public health professionals, public health engineers, weather scientists, agricultural experts etc. Rapidly proliferating climate change is compelling enough to review, strengthen and institutionalize capacity building and public health risk informed planning.
